Easter services will be held this weekend

Union Congregational Church, 18 Church St., York Beach, continues its all-year ministry with an invitation to all townspeople and visitors to join them at the following local Holy Week observances:

• Sunday, March 24, 10 a.m., a triumphant Palm Sunday worship service will take place in the church sanctuary.

• Thursday, March 28, 7 p.m., a Maundy Thursday service will be held in the church sanctuary.

• Sunday, March 31, 5:45 a.m., a brief Easter sunrise service will be held at Sohier Park, overlooking Nubble Lighthouse. Following the service, worshipers are invited to enjoy a continental style breakfast while warming up at Union Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall. In consideration of those whose Easter traditions begin early in the day this timeefficient breakfast replaces the traditional sit-down event of earlier years.

• Sunday, March 31, 10 a.m., a joyous celebration of Easter worship service takes place in the church sanctuary. All are welcome to attend wearing whatever type of apparel they wish.
